Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Still Rooted website and web application at https://stillrooted.org (the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Still Rooted helps churches care for members of their church family who live in continuing-care facilities, hospitals or at home. Members can write cards that are handwritten and mailed, send care packages and flowers, sign up for visits and meals, share prayer requests and give to the church's Still Rooted Fund.

3. Accounts

• You sign in with a Google account and must provide accurate information.
• New accounts must be approved by a church administrator, who assigns your role and may change or remove your access.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell your church administrator or us right away if you think someone else has used it.
• The Service is intended for adults. Children may take part only through an adult, for example by drawing a picture an adult uploads.

4. Acceptable use

Use the Service only for caring, respectful purposes. You agree not to:

• post anything hurtful, threatening, harassing, obscene, misleading or unlawful;
• share private information about another person that you have no right to share;
• upload content you do not have permission to use;
• try to access another church's information or bypass security or role limits; or
• disrupt, overload or misuse the Service.

Reviewers and administrators may correct small mistakes in letters, return letters to the writer, delete letters, and remove content or accounts that do not fit the Service's purpose.

5. Information about other people

Only add information about a resident or recipient, such as their name, mailing address, birthday or photo, when you have a right to share it for the purpose of caring for them. Please follow each facility's rules on visits, gifts, food and flowers.

6. Cards, payments and refunds

• Prices for cards, Special Cards, Sunday school packs and gifts are shown before you pay and may change from time to time.
• When you choose "Send to the review queue", a church reviewer approves the card before the Still Rooted Fund pays for it.
• When you choose "Pay and send now", your card is sent to be handwritten and mailed as soon as payment succeeds, without further review.
• If a paid card is returned or deleted before it is sent for writing, its card cost is refunded to your payment method. Once a card has been sent for writing and mailing, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
• Gifts to the Still Rooted Fund support postage, cards, visit supplies and care packages for the church family, and are generally not refundable. Contact us if you believe a payment was made in error.
• Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe's terms.

7. Mailing and delivery

Handwritten cards are written and mailed by our printing partner, Handwrytten. Delivery times depend on the postal service and the recipient's facility, and we cannot guarantee delivery dates or that a facility will pass a card to the recipient.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the messages, pictures and drawings you add to the Service. You give Still Rooted and its service providers permission to store, copy, print and mail that content as needed to provide the Service, and, only when you give permission, to show a child's drawing in your church's Special Card Gallery. You confirm that you have the right to share the content you upload.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on providers such as Google, Stripe and Handwrytten, and may link to outside florists or shops. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and accurate but do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Still Rooted will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Ending use

You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account as described in our Privacy Policy. We or your church administrator may suspend or end access if these Terms are not followed.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
